How to make sure my CSV file is compatible with Reeport?

This article will help you to:

  • Understand why it’s important to have your CSV files in the right format
  • Learn how to prepare your CSV files properly

To allow Reeport to use your CSV file as a Data Source you need to use the following rules:

  • Separate entries with coma
  • UTF-8 encoding
  • Use dots for decimals (2.99 instead of 2,99)
  • Avoid special characters like %, $, €
  • Dates have to be on the following format : YYYY-MM-DD
  • The first row should include the Metrics and Dimension names
  • The next rows should include the corresponding values for your Metrics and Dimensions
  • Avoid spaces on value entries

Reeport - CSV sample

To reconcile data between a CSV file and a Data Source (eg: Google Analytics) in a Data Widget, the name of the dimensions and the values contained in both sources must be strictly similar (see exemple below)
