Create a Date Range

This article will help you to:

  • Understand the use of Date Ranges in Reeport
  • Create/Edit/Delete a Date Range
  • Make a Date Range global

Overview

A Date Range is a timeframe which you can apply to a Folder, a Report, a Section, a Widget, a Column Set or a Column. Put together, the Date Range and the Data Source make up the Data Input, which makes it possible for you to specify what data Reeport should fetch. Note that both the Date Range and the Data Source can be Inherited.

Create a Date Range

To create a Date Range :

  • From the Library, click on “Date Range” and then on “New Date Range”
  • Name your new Date Range in order to keep your account tidy!
  • Choose a Date Range type:
    • Simple – a simple date where both the start and end dates are set manually (e.g., from January 1st, 2017 to January 31st, 2017)
    • Floating – a dynamic Date Range where neither the start date nor the end date are fixed (e.g., “last week” or “last 7 days”)
    • From date – a semi-dynamic Date Range where only the start date is fixed (e.g., from January 1st, 2017 till today)
  • Hit “Create” to finalize
Alternative

You can also create a Date Range from the Data Input box (often located at the bottom right corner). Click on the Date Range input and hit the “+” button.

Edit a Date Range

To edit a Date Range:

  • From the Library, click on “Date Range”
  • Click on the “Option” button, then on “Edit”
  • Make your changes and hit “Save”
Alternative

You can also edit a Date Range from the Data Inputbox (often located at the bottom right corner). Click on the Date Range input, hover over the Date Range you want to edit and hit “Edit”.

Delete a Date Range

To delete a Date Range:

  • From the Library, click on “Date Range”
  • Hit the “Option” button, then “Delete”
  • Confirm you choice by inputting the “Date Range” name to keep it clean!

Make a Date Range global

When a Date Range is created, it belongs to the current Organization. Making a Date Range global allows to use it among all your Organizations. By default floating date range are global.

  • From the Library, click on “Date Range”
  • Hit the “Option” button, then “Make Global”
